Video footage shows the 62-year-old man assaulting a driver and resisting arrest by an off-duty police officer.
A 62-year-old has been found guilty of a road rage attack in West Sussex.
Martin Perryman was filmed assaulting another driver on the A27 at Lyons Farm in October 2017.
The footage shows an off-duty police office wrestling the pensioner to the ground after witnessing him punching the victim through his driver-side window.
Despite identifying himself as an off-duty police officer, Perryman resisted arrest.
Perryman was convicted of assault by beating, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. In addition, he was also ordered to pay £150 compensation to the victim, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
